The role

Zühlke is internationally recognised for expertise in developing Machine Learning solutions for customers in many different industries. We are heavily investing in global growth in AI & Data and seeking a Senior Data Scientist.

We believe that artificial intelligence (AI) will have a positive impact on our society and environment. AI allows us to address urgent yet unsolved problems in a broad range of fields from specific applications within organisations to problems of global significance.

For instance we can improve patient health through the safe and robust application of machine learning or we support organisations in using computer vision to monitor environmental standards.

How you’ll make an impact

You take on responsibility in customer projects in a wide variety of industries (defining methodological approach, developing use cases with customers, advising customers on technical topics, as well as presenting and explaining results).

Thanks to your passion for data science topics you inspire our customers in the field of machine learning.

You develop machine learning solutions: data preparation, modelling, method selection, evaluation, implementation.

You evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of machine learning solutions.

You operationalise successful prototypes in collaboration with data platform architects and data engineers.

You contribute to the further development of our AI & Data Practice and actively support the acquisition of customer projects.

What’s important to us

You have a Masters degree (ETH Uni) in computer science or a comparable education (e.g. mathematics). A PhD in a machine‑learning related field is a plus.

You have experience implementing machine‑learning solutions in industry.

You bring solid and broad knowledge in machine‑learning, in‑depth knowledge in an application domain (e.g. large language models) and good knowledge in statistics.

You are proficient in the Python machine‑learning stack (NumPy, pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch), have experience in software development and are familiar with the concepts of database systems (relational / NoSQL).

You are familiar with one of the major cloud providers (Azure / AWS / GCP) and understand the concepts of training and operationalising machine‑learning solutions (e.g. MLOps, containerisation, experiment tracking, data versioning).

Thanks to your open and communicative personality you feel comfortable in interdisciplinary teams and can work in a customer‑oriented way from the idea to the successful implementation of a solution.

German language skills are required. Very good English skills complete your profile.
