Your tasks
- Develop modern and scalable data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses) and design high‑performing data models for analytics, ML, and AI use cases.
- Advise clients on technologies, platforms, and best practices, translating technical concepts into clear, understandable recommendations for both business and management stakeholders.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data sources, implement robust ETL/ELT processes, and ensure high data quality throughout the pipeline.
- Build cloud and on‑premises data infrastructures (Azure, AWS, GCP) using Infrastructure‑as‑Code, automated deployment processes, and monitoring systems.
- Consider data governance, privacy, and security requirements along the entire data value chain.
- Depending on the project, support modern AI applications (e.g., vector databases, embeddings, RAG) by designing the appropriate data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues, fostering a collaborative culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork.
- Actively share your expertise — for example through workshops, technical blog posts, or presentations at internal events.
Your profile
- You have successfully completed a Master’s degree, ideally in (Business) Informatics, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
- You have at least five years of relevant professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
- You possess strong skills in SQL, Python, and Bash/Shell, and have experience developing efficient and maintainable data pipelines.
- You have a solid understanding of modern data architectures and experience in data modeling as well as ETL/ELT processes.
- You have hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), distributed systems (e.g., Spark, Kafka), and modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).
- You are familiar with data governance, data protection (e.g., GDPR), and security requirements in cloud environments.
- Ideally, you have experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with LLM‑related data architectures (vector databases, embeddings, RAG) is a plus.
- You are able to lead technical discussions and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels — including non‑technical audiences.
- You take ownership of your work and approach challenges with a structured, detail‑oriented mindset.
- You are fluent in English (spoken and written) and have advanced German skills (B2 or higher), or you are willing to further improve them.
