SAP Basis Consultant (Freelance – 6 Months)

Location: Hamburg or Berlin, Germany

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: €840 per day

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant to support our client’s ongoing SAP landscape operations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring system stability, performance, and reliability across a complex and modern SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer the SAP technical environment including system installations, upgrades, patches, and enhancements
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
• Support SAP Basis activities across ECC, S / 4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, PI / PO, and other SAP platforms
• Manage user administration, transport management, system copies, and client refreshes
• Ensure high system availability and implement best-practice Basis standards
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and functional teams to resolve cross-functional issues
• Support ongoing migration, cloud integration, and system modernization initiatives
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Provide on‑call or after‑hours support as required during key project phases

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands‑on SAP Basis administration experience
• Strong expertise in SAP NetWeaver, S / 4HANA, HANA database administration, and Linux / UNIX environments
• Proven experience with system upgrades, migrations, SAP kernel updates, and support packages
• Solid understanding of SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
• Experience with Solution Manager (ChaRM, Monitoring, System Administration)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a strong advantage
• Familiarity with high‑availability configurations and disaster recovery concepts
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong documentation skills
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus
