Overview

Object First, now an independent business unit of Veeam, builds secure, simple, and powerful backup storage for Veeam customers, engineered with Absolute Immutability to deliver true ransomware-proof protection. Our Zero Access architecture ensures no one can alter or delete backup data, providing cyber resilience by design. We are a fast-growing team driven by innovation, clarity, and meaningful impact. Object First is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our growing team! This technical role works closely with the broader Go-To-Market (GTM) team to support our partners, prospects, and customers.

As a Sales Engineer, you will be expected to enable partners to perform all key functions of the role, including running Proof of Concepts (PoCs) independently.

Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication is highly preferred. A VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer) certification or a related credential (e.g., VMCA, VMware VCP, Commvault, NetApp) would be a significant advantage. A solid understanding of Data Resiliency and Zero Trust concepts would also be a strong asset.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide technical expertise for Object First products and related technologies.
  • Lead technical sales presentations, demos, and proof of concepts to customers and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with partners and customers in your territory.
  • Qualify opportunities by assessing technical requirements, solution fit, and competitive landscape.
  • Support sales teams in customer meetings and technical discussions.
  • Drive partner enablement through training and technical guidance.
  • Participate in events, webinars, and user groups to generate leads.
  • Work closely with sales teams to develop technical solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Develop relationship with local Cybersecurity authorities and ecosystem.
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong technical expertise in data protection, storage, networking, and virtualization, with hands-on experience using Veeam Backup & Replication.
  • Previous Sales Engineering experience in software, DevOps, or data protection.
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
  • Experience presenting to and working with C-level executives.
  • A strong track record of customer-facing technical presentations and product demos.
  • The ability to manage multiple customer engagements with quick and reliable follow-up.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • The ability to quickly learn and clearly explain new technologies.
  • Strong self-motivation with a results-driven mindset.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a resourceful, hands-on problem-solving approach.
  • A proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
