For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking for a Quality Management Engineer

The primary objective of EUMETSAT is to establish, maintain and exploit European systems of operational meteorological satellites and to contribute to the operational monitoring of the climate and the detection of global climate changes. A further objective of EUMETSAT is to provide data, products and support services to the Copernicus information services and user communities, with a focus on marine, atmosphere and climate.

The mission of the Quality Management (QM) team is to provide the Management Board with an independent assessment of the compliance, effectiveness and efficiency of EUMETSAT’s management system processes and of the management of associated risks, and to propose related improvements.

The position will include tasks such as:

• Contribute to the definition and maintenance of a multi-year internal quality audit (IQA) programme and ISMS audit programme, using a risk based approach, and to the preparation of consistent annual IQA programmes
• Monitor the implementation of the IQA programmes and of audit schedules
• deliver to MB, on be-half of H/QM, quarterly status of IQA programmes’ implementation
• Track in Jira the status of all IQAs actions, related to IQA’ finding, produce the related statistics
• Support H/QM to analyse gaps and shortcomings identified in internal and external audits and/or performance assessment and to identify and propose relevant corrective actions for the EMS
• Administrate the documentation related to internal quality audits (e.g. filing reports, archiving audit papers, initiating IQAs with "starter pack for audit team"
• Support the Management Review process
• Track in Jira the status of all MRM actions, produce the related statistics in Jira
• Support the H/QM in processing issues related to the EUMETSAT Management System (e.g. reviewing documents, proposing and/or analysing changes)
• Maintain the QM Plan file through quarterly dedicated QM meetings
• Support H/QM in organising a refresher training on ISO 9001 standard

Key Qualifications
The candidate shall have an university degree or equivalent in a technical subject and at least 3 years’ experience of a Quality Management / Process Assurance role, preferably in an operational 24/7 data processing and/or service-provision environment.

Mandatory knowledge, experience and skills required

• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as English is the working language
• Good knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard.
• Experience of working in an environment where an ISO 9001-certified management system is used.
• Experience of documenting work activities in the form of process definitions, procedures and working practices, plus good ‘user-viewpoint’ writing skills.
• Experience of auditing and/or process assessment.
• Knowledge of Jira/Confluence application.
• Skilled in using the Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Any of the following attributes will be considered advantageous:

• Knowledge of ISO 31000 (Risk Management) and/or experience of the activity.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and/or experience of the activity.
• Possession of an auditing qualification, e.g. for ISO 9001.
• Experience of using Microsoft Office Visio and Powerpoint.

Working Location
This is a full-time position to be located at EUMETSAT’s premises in Darmstadt, Germany with an expected start date as soon as possible.
