A leading chemical company in Bayreuth is seeking a Product Developer (m/f/d) to develop new Polypropylene Compounds for key OEMs in the Transportation segment. The ideal candidate will have a scientific degree, preferably a PhD, and strong experience in polymers. Fluency in both German and English is required, along with excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills. For our German sites in Bayreuth we are looking for a

Product Developer (PAD) (m / f / d)

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Product development of new Polypropylene Compounds for specific OEM’s (. BMW, Mercedes, …) of the Transportation segment according to Product Development Procedures
• Understand market trends, customer / end user needs and translate those into products / technology to be developed
• Initiate cost reduction programs together with the product responsible Centre of Excellence and Asset Management
• Support evaluation Recycling materials for the use in Polypropylene Compounds with the Centre of Excellence
• Interface with project management, technical services, manufacturing and Asset Management
• Support complaint analysis and conception of corrective actions on plant level
• Interface with key account teams and define short-term products / application improvement programs

Qualifications

• University degree in scientific areas, preferred with PhD or equivalent and good experience in polymers and application technologies with good mathematical and physical skills
• German (fluent), English (fluent), additional language preferred
• Good understanding of Polypropylene Compound properties and customer as well as production needs and the influencing factors
• Project management culture, teamwork and problem solving approach
• Experience in inter-functional projects and resource management
• Professionalism, creativity and enthusiasm to get things done and to raise consensus / commitment in others
• Good communication skills and teamwork with a wide range of hierarchies
