The Nutritional Biochemistry working group has a vacancy for a

PhD position (m/f/d)

Workplace assignments
  • Collaboration and qualification (PhD) within the project ‘Determination of the feed value of foliage from agroforestry and heat-tolerant plants for ruminants’
  • Feed sampling and nutrient analyses
  • Ration formulations for sheep
  • Conducting feeding and balance trials with sheep, incl. sample collections
  • Application of analytical methods, e.g. photometry, enzyme activity measurement, PCR, direct and indirect calorimetry
  • Data analyses, statistical evaluation
  • Result presentations at conferences
  • Writing publication manuscripts and reports
Your training and skills
  • University degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural science or a comparable field of study
  • Sound knowledge of animal nutrition, animal physiology and feed science
  • Practical experience in working with ruminants
  • Sense of responsibility, operational readiness, and physical resilience according to the area of duties
  • Experience in using MS Office software
  • Commitment and ability to work in a team
  • Good written and spoken English and German
