PATENT ATTORNEY (M/W/D) — Focus: organic chemistry

Full-time / Unlimited / Start immediately

Novaled GmbH is the world's leading supplier of specialist chemicals for use in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Novaled's products can be found in most AMOLED displays, including smartphones, tablets, TVs and smartwatches. Novaled's main shareholder is Samsung SDI.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In close collaboration with the R&D department, identify new inventions and convert these into registered IP rights, incl. responsibility for examination and granting procedures at the patent offices (EP, US, KR, CN, JP).
• Defense of own patents in oppositions/invalidation procedures and attack of 3rd party IP rights, in particular in Korea and China.
• Ensure freedom-to-operate for new products for the international market, including identification of potential risks and implementation of appropriate counter-measures.
• You are keen to become an expert in the field organic electronics (OLEDs, photovoltaics, photodetectors, etc.) if you are not yet familiar with the topic.

YOUR PROFILE:

• University degree in chemistry, ideally with a focus on organic and/or organometallic chemistry.
• Fully qualified European, US, Chinese, or Korean patent attorney or you are about to complete the exams.
• Ideally, you have hands-on experience in international patent law.
• You are proficient in communicating complex legal and technical issues in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner, face-to-face and in written communication.
• You display a high degree of responsibility, integrity, and reliability. You work in a structured and accurate manner and you have a strong hands-on approach.
• Fluency in English (verbally and in writing) is essential. German skills are desirable. Proficiency in MS Office is required. Basic knowledge of Korean or Chinese is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The position is available immediately. The working hours are 40 hours per week. Please indicate your availability and salary expectations (gross annual salary) in your application.
