J&T Express Germany GmbH in Karlsfeld (near Munich) is seeking an Operations Specialist to oversee sorting and transit center operations. This on-site role offers night shifts and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and safety.

You should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years in on-site logistics operations, and be fluent in Mandarin and English. German is a plus, and the company promises growth within a dynamic international network.

Join J&T Express as an Operations Specialist and take an active role in managing the daily operations of our sorting and transit center. You will coordinate operational processes, support frontline teams, monitor performance, and ensure efficient, safe, and reliable parcel handling. Working closely with the center management team, you will contribute to operational excellence, workforce coordination, and continuous improvement. The position is based in Karlsfeld (near Munich) and is 100% on-site, including shift and night work.

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise inbound, outbound, and transit operations, including sorting, scanning, loading, unloading, and parcel consolidation, ensuring smooth workflows and timely processing
• Monitor and improve operational KPIs, including processing times, sorting accuracy, misrouting rates, parcel damage and loss rates, and overall productivity
• Support shift planning and workforce allocation, adapting staffing levels to fluctuating parcel volumes, peak periods, and operational requirements
• Act as a first point of escalation for operational disruptions, including processing exceptions, vehicle delays, equipment failures, and other on-site challenges
• Supervise and support shift leaders and frontline employees, including attendance monitoring, performance evaluation, training, shift briefings, and onboarding activities
• Ensure compliance with German occupational health and safety regulations, promote workplace safety, conduct operational inspections, and maintain high standards of quality control and 6S workplace management
• Drive operational efficiency and cost optimization by improving standard operating procedures (SOPs), workforce productivity, equipment utilization, and data-driven reporting
• Collaborate with Transport, Network Planning, Customer Service, Quality Control, and other internal departments to coordinate vehicle movements, resolve operational issues, and support facility improvements and capacity expansion projects

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 3 years of professional experience in on-site operations management within express delivery, logistics, warehousing, or sorting/transit centers
• Strong understanding of sorting and transit center operations, including inbound/outbound processes, parcel handling, operational KPIs, and workforce coordination
• Experience in team leadership or shift supervision is an advantage, combined with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
• Familiarity with automated sorting equipment, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or Order Management Systems (OMS) is considered a plus
• Strong communication skills, resilience under pressure, and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced operational environment
• Business‑fluent Mandarin and English are mandatory; German language skills are an advantage
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, according to operational requirements
