Job Purpose

Our Multi Skilled Drivers carry out the collection and exchange of workshop waste containers from businesses and automotive sources whilst promoting the Slicker workplace values. We are currently looking for a Driver to be based out of our Transfer Station in Uddingston. We are Smart, Honest and Reliable, working Together whilst having Fun.

Main Tasks and responsibilities

The multiskilled collection driver will be involved in a wide range of duties. Main tasks include:

• Professional HGV Class 2 driver – dual role on tanker and/or rigid box
• Loading and offloading of vehicle, multi drops and collections
• Rigid box – manual transportation of garage waste – bins/drums/IBC’s
• Tanker – collection of waste oils
• Completion of all relevant electronic information to generate consignment notes
• Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation – including daily walk round, drivers hours, etc
• Adhering to company Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Representing the company in a professional manner when dealing with customers and members of the public
• Apply the Slicker values to your role, “People rarely succeed unless they have Fun in what they are doing.”

Essential skills and experience

• Experience of working in a similar environment is essential – the role of a Multi Skilled Driver is physically demanding due to the lifting and carrying of waste containers.
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Team player
• Flexibility to work longer hours during busy periods and must be prepared to stay out overnight as required.

Licences / Qualifications

• HGV Class C (Class 2) Licence
• ADR Licence preferred

Hours of work

• Standard hours: 48 hours, Monday to Friday
• Overtime available
