I'm currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in chilled & warm water systems for a major semiconductor greenfield project.

Position: Mechanical Wet Engineer
Project: Semiconductor Greenfield Project - ESMC, Dresden
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Duration: 12 months (overall project runs until mid 2028)
Location: Dresden, Germany
Workload: 100%
On-site: 5 days per week
Language skills: fluent in German and English
Contract Type: Freelance

Experience:

  • proven capability in leading and coordinating cross-functional, multi-national engineering teams, interfacing with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to drive technical excellence and project success
  • At least 10 years experience in mechanical, (power) plants and critical facility engineering, including design, site engineering, testing, commissioning & operations for major industrial semiconductor or infrastructure projects

Technical expertise covering the following:

  • Pumps & Hydraulics: Selection, sizing, NPSH evaluation, troubleshooting, vibration diagnostics, seal and bearing analysis, and optimisation of pumping systems for industrial and critical environments.
  • Chilled & Warm Water and HVAC Systems: Expertise in chilled water systems, chillers / cooling towers, heat rejection systems, air handling units and precision cooling for mission-critical plats / facilities. Design and operation of boilers (plant), warm water distribution systems, pressure vessels, mixing-stations, heat exchangers and fuel oil / gas systems.
  • Rotating Machinery: Hands-on experience with fans, blowers, compressors, chillers, cooling tower drives, including alignment, balancing, and fault diagnostics.
  • Predictive & Condition-Based Maintenance: Skilled in vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound inspections, and reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
  • Compliance & Standards: Strong working knowledge of API, ASME, DIN/EN, and ISO standards, including mechanical integrity, inspection, testing, and commissioning procedures.
  • Automation & Monitoring: Familiar with BMS/SCADA integration, sensor-based monitoring, and optimization of mechanical systems using operational data and digital tools.
