I am seeking a highly skilled and strategic Managing Director to lead and oversee the growth and success of my client, specialising in the development of cutting-edge optical inspection systems. This leadership role will be responsible for shaping and executing the overall business strategy, driving operational excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company’s strategic goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with long-term growth targets and market opportunities.
  • Drive innovation by collaborating with R&D, engineering, and product development teams to ensure the company remains at the forefront of optical inspection technology.
  • Establish and nurture key relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and industry leaders to enhance market presence and business development.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient management of resources, technology development, and product delivery.
  • Implement effective management systems to improve operational performance and profitability across all business functions (sales, production, engineering, customer support, etc.).
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the company’s internal processes to meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the financial management of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure profitability and sound financial health.
  • Make data-driven decisions regarding capital investments, cost management, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, risk management frameworks, and internal controls.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment by inspiring and motivating employees across all levels.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies that drive growth in existing and new markets.
  • Lead product development initiatives, driving the company’s commitment to delivering advanced, state-of-the-art solutions that address the evolving needs of the market.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of senior leadership experience in the technology, engineering, or manufacturing sectors, with a strong preference for experience in optical inspection systems or similar precision technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing P&L responsibilities, driving growth, and scaling technology-focused companies.
  • Extensive experience in product development and managing cross-functional teams in R&D, engineering, and operations.
  • Experience in business development and fostering relationships with global customers, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with senior executives, customers, and industry partners.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
