We are looking for individuals to join our team at the Public Health Command Europe, Landstuhl, Germany.

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Landstuhl, Germany

Start Date: Immediately

Job Type: Full Time

Summary: The Laboratory Technician will participate in patient testing and reporting, assist in quality control/management, reporting, administrative tasks, training, tracing, and specimen tracking.

Qualifications: Associate degree in biological or chemical sciences, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited university. MLT certification, foreign equivalent, or MT certification.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Patient testing: specimen processing, nucleic acid extraction, amplification, detection (PCR-based), real-time PCR, DNA sequencing, cell culture, and microbiological/molecular methods.
  • Reporting results into LIS (CHCS), ensuring accuracy and completeness, maintaining records for at least two years.
  • Quality control and management: performing QC procedures, reviewing SOPs, and complying with training and safety protocols.
  • Reporting and administrative tasks: result certification, report generation, SOP review, epidemiological surveillance, and manuscript research.
  • Training and safety compliance.
  • External training, specimen tracking, and survey submissions from outlying clinics.
