We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen our central Operational Technology (OT) organisation. Our team ensures the secure and highly available OT infrastructure supporting RWE’s gas, coal and biomass power plants across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Turkey. With rising security requirements and a shift toward Infrastructure as Code, this is the perfect time to join and help shape the next generation of our OT platforms.

About the Role
  • Operate and maintain virtualized and containerized environments (VMware, Windows/Linux, Kubernetes).
  • Support applications for remote control, real‑time dispatching, secure third‑party access and process data handling.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and provide operational support across the OT landscape.
  • Plan and coordinate technical activities, including communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to high‑level architecture design and Infrastructure‑as‑Code development.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and support availability and resilience strategies.
  • Drive the transition from a VMware/Windows setup to a Kubernetes‑based platform.
Job requirements and experience
  • Experience in highly available and security‑critical ICT/OT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of technologies such as VMware, Windows, Linux, VEEAM, Zabbix, ELK, Citrix Netscaler, 2FA, EUM, GitLab, Ansible, Kubernetes.
  • Ability to operate at operational, tactical and strategic levels.
  • Understanding of virtualization, containerization and Infrastructure‑as‑Code concepts.
  • Experience with complex networks and multi‑data‑centre setups.
  • Strong security mindset, ideally with experience in OT environments.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
