Health & Life Sciences Associate & Engagement Manager (m/f/d) Germany

Company

Oliver Wyman

WHO WE ARE

The Health and Life Sciences (HLS) practice helps clients in the payer, provider, digital health and life sciences sectors realize their most ambitious organizational and operational visions by bridging the gap between their business today and their vision for the future. We are focused on creating positive change in healthcare and build a community that shares and shapes ideas to transform healthcare, generate meaningful client impact, deliver strategic insights and create a healthcare system that meets the needs of communities and companies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Associate, you will break down complex problems into discrete tasks, identify the key aspects of a problem and direct the focus of junior consultants. You will plan and execute analyses, identify core issues in complex analyses, craft suitable recommendations, work side by side with clients and project team members, and manage small teams to get the work done. Clients and colleagues look to Associates for unique insight into the subject area you choose.

As an Engagement Manager, you will lead the project day‑to‑day, guide the team through an efficient and effective problem‑solving process from initial thought to convergence on a solution, ensure recommendations are correct, practical, sensible, relevant and cohesive, and forge strong relationships. Your role demands thought leadership at the strategic level and command of all technical and operational details of execution.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
  • 4–10 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top‑tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization
  • In‑depth knowledge of the Health & Life Sciences sector
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, and ability to conduct and leverage sophisticated analyses to identify trends, draw conclusions and present recommendations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings
  • Fluency in English and German is required
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program
  • Willingness to travel
  • Initiative to seek out opportunities to learn new skills and apply existing ones effectively
  • Creative thinking to generate novel ideas to solve our clients’ biggest problems
  • Aptitude for analytical work such as sniffing out clues in massive data sets or hunting down key issues in complex challenges
  • Willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with our highly talented team
