To strengthen our leadership team, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Laboratory Operations to oversee daily laboratory performance, ensure operational excellence, and drive continuous improvement across all lab functions.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all laboratory operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality output.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration schedules, and operational readiness of all lab facilities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and quality standards (e.g., GLP, ISO, internal SOPs).
• Partner with scientific leaders to optimize processes, resource allocation, and project timelines.
• Manage and mentor laboratory staff, including team leads and technicians.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that support growth, efficiency, and safety.
• Monitor budgets, inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships.
• Drive initiatives in digitalization, automation, and process optimization.
• Serve as the key point of contact for internal and external audits.

Your Profile

• Degree in life sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology) or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Several years of leadership experience in laboratory operations within a CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, or research environment.
• Strong understanding of pre-clinical workflows, laboratory technologies, and quality systems.
• Proven track record in team leadership, change management, and operational optimization.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German proficiency is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with a high level of organization and accountability.
