Overview

Hardware Engineering Team Leader (m/f/d) role at Molex. Location: Bochum or Schönefeld, Germany.


What You Will Do


  • Lead and manage a team of electrical design engineers, PCB designers and Technicians in the development of automotive products from concept to production.

  • Foster a positive and productive team culture, promoting systematic and organized work practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, procurement, testing and sales, to ensure project alignment with company goals and customer requirements.

  • Oversee the entire hardware development cycle, ensuring that all stages from concept to series production are executed efficiently and effectively.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design practices, processes, and tools to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

  • Develop and manage project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of milestones.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth.

  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to select materials and components, while considering cost, quality, and sustainability.

  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis to support robust product development.


The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and product development within the automotive industry.

  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage and inspire a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.

  • Strong communication (German and English) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

  • Proficiency in EDA tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle, Mentor Graphics) and simulation software (e.g., PSpice, HFSS).

  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and best practices.

  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
