About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AI expert to join our pool of freelance lecturers for the master’s module “MTM_01 – AI Technologies and Applications” in our M.Sc. Technology & Management program.

As a Freelance Lecturer (f / m / x) : AI Technologies and Applications , you will ideally take responsibility for the full 15 ECTS module , which consists of the course “AI Technologies” and the case study “Technical Dimensions of AI Applications” . In this role, you will guide students in understanding, selecting, evaluating, and adapting contemporary AI technologies, while also critically reflecting on their technical, ethical, legal, environmental, economic, and social implications .

Teaching will be organized as a hybrid format :

Intensive weeks on-site on CODE’s Berlin campus (two blocks of 2.5 days, approx. 09 : 00–18 : 00 incl. breaks)

Full responsibility for the module by one lecturer is preferred , but we are open to splitting the module between two lecturers and external presenters.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver the master’s-level module AI Technologies and Applications (15 ECTS)
• Teaching is organized in two intensive teaching blocks on campus (2.5 days each) and a series of synchronous remote sessions.
• Develop and curate learning materials that combine theoretical input with practical, hands‑on work using contemporary AI technologies.
• Facilitate interactive, challenge‑based learning formats , including group work and case discussions, hands‑on exercises and projects related to real‑world AI applications.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. A PhD or equivalent research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Professional expertise in AI, e.g. as Machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI researcher, AI product / tech lead, or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of core AI technologies, such as Machine learning and deep learning, applied AI systems and AI applications in products / services, awareness of current developments (e.g. foundation models, generative AI, LLM‑based systems).
• A solid background in education or training, with the ability to captivate and inspire diverse audiences.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in English (spoken and written).
