A Berlin-based food tech startup is seeking a Product Developer to support the full product development process, focusing on alternative proteins. This permanent role offers flexible working hours and the chance to contribute to innovative food solutions. The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and over 5 years of experience in formulation and product development. The role includes collaborative work with cross-functional teams and travel within Europe for production trials.
Support the full product development process, from ideation through formulation, testing, and upscaling
Develop and optimize recipes and formulations to expand Nosh’s product portfolio
Perform prototyping, shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and consumer testing; interpret data to guide decisions
Conduct and evaluate analyses to understand the functional properties of our raw materials; provide actionable insights to improve product performance
Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Commercial, Operations, customers, and external partners
Recommend modifications to product formulas or processes to enhance quality, functionality, or cost efficiency
Travel within Europe for production trials, sensory evaluations, and customer collaborations
Support product demos at events, fairs, and conferences, including sample preparation and stakeholder engagement
Stay up to date with industry trends relevant to alternative proteins, food technology, and product development

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or a related field
5+ years of experience in product development, formulation, or applications, ideally in plant-based or alternative protein products
Strong technical understanding of ingredient functionality, texture technology, and sensory science, especially in replicating animal-like textures and flavors
Experience with plant-based meat or fish analogues is a strong plus; experience with mycoprotein is highly preferred
Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous, solution-oriented mindset
Strong communication skills and confidence collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges creatively and pragmatically
Fluent in English (German is a strong plus)
Enthusiastic, curious, and motivated to learn quickly
High integrity, strong work ethic, and a proactive approach
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Team-oriented, respectful, and positive — contributing to an open and supportive culture
