Our mission for you

Lead the team that builds the foundation for trawa's energy intelligence.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team in designing, building, and running the core of trawa's technology ecosystem. You'll shape a team culture grounded in trust, collaboration, and continuous learning, creating an environment where engineers thrive and do their best work.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will lead an established and growing team of talented engineers who own the infrastructure and cloud platforms that power our services, enabling our data pipelines and applications to run reliably at scale. This role is based in Berlin, with the option to balance remote work with regular in-office attendance.

You’ll drive the evolution of three key areas:

  • Scalable, secure infrastructure on AWS that powers our mission-critical services and data systems with high availability
  • Enabling engineering teams through great developer experience: CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and internal platforms that help teams ship faster and with confidence
  • Operational excellence through automation, compliance, and well‑managed incident response

Who we are looking for
  • You have at least two years of experience in a technical leadership role with people management responsibilities, ideally gained in a fast‑moving startup environment. You know how to balance team growth with delivery and create an environment where engineers do their best work.
  • Hands‑on knowledge from one of the following domains: SRE, DevOps, Platform, Data, or Software Engineering
  • You bring deep experience in cloud engineering on AWS, working with infrastructure as code, cloud‑native patterns, and containerised systems. You’ve built or led large‑scale distributed services, with a strong grasp of security, reliability, observability, and cost efficiency in modern cloud environments.
  • Clear communicator who builds trust and fosters collaboration across teams
  • Inclusive leader who creates an environment where engineers of diverse backgrounds and experiences can thrive
  • Nice to have: familiarity with compliance standards (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC 2) or experience operating in a regulated environment
