Overview

The Munich Marriott City West sets new benchmarks and standards for meetings and events. The upscale concept includes a state-of-the-art conference center, 398 guest rooms and suites, and almost 5,000 sqm of public space. This role is for the Director of Convention Sales (m/f/d) at the Munich Marriott City West. Work permit for EU/Germany and German language skills are mandatory.

Join our hotel team as Director of Convention Sales to lead our Meeting, Incentives, Conferences & Events (MICE) efforts and drive utilization with the pro active sales & revenue teams. You will communicate across all hotel departments to ensure events are planned A to Z, with full accountability for the convention sales area.

Location: Munich Marriott City West, Landsberger Strasse 156, Munich, Bayern, Germany, 80687. Schedule: Full Time. This is a management position.

Responsibilities
  • You are responsible for the professional planning and execution of conferences, events, congresses, and group bookings (rooms).
  • You delegate tasks effectively and ensure smooth coordination across departments.
  • You manage the efficient allocation of meeting and event spaces while maximizing hotel capacity utilization.
  • You ensure clear and professional communication of event processes and procedures across all departments.
  • You serve as the primary contact for clients through site inspections, personal consultations, and on-site presence during events.
  • You hold full budget responsibility for the convention sales area, including budget creation, achievement, and forecasting.
  • You prepare regular analyses and reports to support business decisions.
  • You oversee contracting and billing for all events and group bookings with accuracy and professionalism.
  • You manage the administrative and operational functions of the convention sales team.
  • You lead, develop, train, and mentor team members and trainees, sharing expertise and fostering professional growth.
  • You actively participate in recruitment and onboarding of new team members while creating a motivating and supportive work environment.
  • You work collaboratively with all hotel departments and play an active role within the leadership team.
