Grow with us! We are currently looking for a colleague to join the Business Development Team that is a part of our Sales and Relationship Management Department under the Chief Commercial Officer. We are responsible for driving growth in alternatives, focusing primarily on Infrastructure, Private Equity and Private Debt.
Role and impact
You will be primarily accountable for increasing overall sales in the Private Asset segment, with no regional limitation. You will participate in shaping efa’s Private Assets business development strategy and actively contribute to its success by building out a network of contacts with key decision makers, including fund managers and asset owners, but also with key institutional partners such as depositary banks, management companies, as well as centers of influence such as auditors, lawyers, and independent directors.
Responsibilities
- Identify and target potential clients within the private debt, private equity, and infrastructure spaces through market research, networking, and cold outreach.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key decision makers, including fund managers, asset owners, and other stakeholders, to understand their needs and position our services effectively.
- Present and demonstrate our fund administration services in a compelling manner, highlighting key features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Lead negotiation efforts to secure new mandates, including pricing, terms, and service level agreements, while ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability targets.
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline, accurately tracking leads, opportunities, and client interactions, and prioritize activities to maximize conversion rates.
Skills and experience
- Extensive experience in sales and business development within the alternative investment space, particularly in the private debt, private equity, and infrastructure asset classes.
- Proven track record of success in selling fund administration services to top tier alternative asset managers and investors.
- In-depth understanding of the alternative investment landscape, including market trends, regulatory frameworks (such as AIFMD), fund structures (e.g., limited partnerships, SICARs), and operational complexities unique to alternative assets.
- Established network and relationships with key players in the alternative investment industry, including fund managers, institutional investors, family offices, and industry associations.
- Result driven with ability to leverage industry connections to identify business opportunities, source new clients, and build strategic partnerships.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Fluency in English. Proficiency in French, German, or any other European language may also be beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CAIA) with a focus on alternative investments can be advantageous.
