The Crop Consultant supports Grodan’s growth by providing expert technical guidance to customers and promoting Precision Growing across the horticultural value chain. In this role, you collaborate closely with sales representatives and crop specialists, help develop advanced irrigation advice, and build strong relationships with growers, distributors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

You act as a key technical ambassador for Grodan—translating market needs into input for R&D and Marketing, supporting commercial activities, and strengthening Grodan’s positioning as the preferred growing‑media partner.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality crop technical support (on‑site and remote) related to Grodan products, irrigation strategy, and root zone management
• Improve and further develop irrigation advice based on Precision Growing principles
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and consultants to expand Grodan’s market presence
• Collect and share technical and market insights; provide competitive intelligence
• Conduct sales‑supporting technical conversations and contribute to business development
• Set up and monitor customer trials; document findings and guidance
• Provide technical training to internal teams and external partners
• Log customer visits and activities in the CRM system
• Participate in Business Development projects as a technical expert

Your profile

• Bachelor‑ or University degree in Plant Sciences, Plant Biotechnology or Resilient Farming & Food Systems
• Strong agronomic and crop‑technical expertise, preferably in irrigation, substrate use, and greenhouse cultivation
• Ability to translate complex technical information into practical guidance for growers and partners
• Proactive networker with a strong market orientation
• Of course we look for experience and we also invite recent graduates to apply for this role
• Superior written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is a strong plus, and you have strong cultural awareness of the APAC region.
• Gets energized by travel : 20‑25% travel in Asia‑Pacific region, 10‑15% travel in EU and 5‑10% presence in Roermond / The Netherlands.
