As the Country Manager Germany, you are accountable for the national P&L, leadership, and operational oversight in your respective country, in order to provide best in class, quality service, customer compliance, satisfaction and operational proficiency that ensures growth and profitability and that the country strategic goals and objectives are being met.
Responsibilities
- Implementation and compliance with company policies and procedures, quality standards, and other applicable regulatory guidelines, with respect to all operational (Incl Domestic Transport) functions for the sites.
- Lead and manage the local operations team to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders in the international forwarding industry.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards related to international forwarding.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to align strategies, share best practices, and leverage resources for mutual success.
- Prepare regular reports on business performance, financial results, and market insights for senior management and communicate in line with the regional Communication Matrix.
- Partner with respective Matrix counterparts (HR, Finance, Sales) for efficient and a best-in-class business performance.
- Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated business development goals and objectives.
- Review and evaluate stations P&L performance and establish short term goals to address any budgetary shortfalls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- min. of 7 years of experience in international forwarding or freight forwarding industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve ambitious targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and German, additional languages are a plus.
- Proven track record of driving (profitable) growth
- Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in the work setting.
