Senior Commercial Director — Continental Europe (Hybrid / Travel Role)
Location: Continental Europe, with the ability to work in Düsseldorf 2 days per week and travel regularly across European customer sites and company locations.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Director to lead and expand commercial activities across Continental Europe. This role combines strategic sales leadership with a hands‑on, hunting‑driven approach, ensuring both revenue growth and development of high‑performing sales and Key Account Management teams.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished commercial leader who is equally comfortable driving major customer engagements directly and building scalable sales organizations. Experience within industrial machinery or capital equipment environments is preferred, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Growth
- Define and execute the regional commercial and go‑to‑market strategy across Continental Europe.
- Drive new business development, customer acquisition, and expansion within key markets.
- Lead strategic account planning and major deal execution, personally engaging in critical opportunities.
Sales & Key Account Management Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop high‑performing sales and Key Account Management teams.
- Establish performance frameworks, sales cadence, and pipeline discipline.
- Foster a results‑driven, customer‑centric culture with strong accountability.
Market & Customer Engagement
- Develop senior‑level relationships with customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive insights to inform strategy.
- Represent the organization at key industry events and client negotiations.
Operational & Organizational Contribution
- Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and Leadership teams to align commercial priorities.
- Support pricing strategy, contract structures, and margin optimization.
- Contribute to long‑term regional growth planning and organizational development.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
- Proven track record in a senior commercial, sales, or business development leadership role.
- Experience managing multi‑country commercial teams and complex B2B sales cycles.
- Industrial, manufacturing, capital equipment, or machinery background preferred (not mandatory).
Leadership & Style
- Strong, decisive leader with the ability to inspire, develop, and scale teams.
- Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable “rolling up sleeves” while operating at strategic level.
- Confident hunter profile with strong negotiation and customer‑facing presence.
Skills & Competencies

- Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
Travel & Working Model
- Based in Continental Europe with presence in Düsseldorf approximately 2 days per week.
