At Smart Host, we’re building the leading CRM & marketing automation platform for the hospitality industry in Europe. With our B2B SaaS product, we help independent hotels turn guest data into personalised marketing - increasing direct bookings, guest satisfaction, and ultimately, profitability.
We’re already the market leader in the DACH region, profitable, and growing fast. Our team combines deep hospitality knowledge with modern software thinking, and we’re now preparing for our next stage of growth: expanding into new markets, scaling our organization, and building out our leadership capabilities.

To support this journey, we’re hiring our first Chief of Staff to work directly alongside our Founder & CEO and drive strategic clarity, operational excellence, and cross-functional alignment across the business.

About the Role

As Chief of Staff, you will act as a strategic right-hand to our CEO and work closely with the entire leadership team. Your mission: to help us scale faster, smarter, and with more focus. This is a highly cross-functional rolewith company-wide impact. You’ll take ownership of strategic planning, internal processes, and special projects - all while helping our leadership team operate at maximum leverage.

You’ll also step in where needed: from interim leadership of specific departments to owning critical projects end-to-end, including structured follow-ups and ensuring that key priorities move forward. You are the person who makes sure that important things don’t just get discussed - they get done. You’ll play a key role in supporting our expansion efforts - helping to coordinate new market entries and the operational setup of local teams where needed.

  • CEO Support & Strategic Leverage - Be a trusted sparring partner to our Founder & CEO – prioritize initiatives, structure discussions, prepare for key meetings, and help turn ideas into outcomes.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Own our OKR process, support leadership in aligning on goals, and ensure consistent execution across the company.

  • Cross-Functional Project Management - Lead or support key initiatives across functions – from product and go-to-market to operations – including responsibility for timelines, ownership, and structured follow-ups.

  • Interim Department Leadership - Step in to temporarily lead teams or departments during transition phases, provide structure, and keep things moving.

  • Internal Communication & Culture - Ensure clear communication across the team, support All-Hands meetings and offsites, and help foster a high-performance, transparent culture.

  • Investor & Board Communication - Support in the preparation of materials and data storytelling for investor updates and board meetings.

  • Operational Efficiency - Identify bottlenecks, improve how we work, and help the business scale with focus and clarity.


About You

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in top-tier consulting (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain) or in an operational role at a startup or scale up.

  • You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills - you can break down complex problems and build clear, actionable plans.

  • You’ve worked closely with senior leadership and are comfortable managing projects across multiple stakeholders.

  • You’re a clear communicator and natural collaborator who can drive alignment and bring clarity to teams.

  • You enjoy switching between strategic work and hands-on execution - and take pride in getting things over the line.

  • You are pragmatic, structured, and highly reliable - someone who can be trusted with high-impact initiatives.

  • Native-level German and business-fluent English are required.
