Overview

As the Branch Manager, you ensure an optimal and smooth operational execution in your area of responsibility, are accountable for the local P&L, leadership, and operational oversight in your respective Branch. You ensure best in class, quality service, customer compliance, satisfaction and operational proficiency that results in growth and profitability, meeting the country strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Management of the Airfreight Branch in organizational and technical terms
  • Ensuring personnel and operational planning
  • Support and consulting of customers and agents on best-in-class solutions
  • Ensuring the smooth and on time processing of all shipments
  • Acquisition of new customers in consultation with Sales & Product
  • Preparation of offers and calculations
  • Handling customer correspondence
  • Prepare regular reports on business performance, financial results, and market insights for senior management and communicate in line with the regional Communication Matrix.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated business development goals and objectives.
  • Review and evaluate stations P&L performance and establish short term goals to address any budgetary shortfalls.
  • Recruitment of employees and conducting job interviews
  • Onboarding, evaluation, training, and development of employees
  • Preparation of budgets for the Branch, as well as adherence of the budget
  • Implementation and maintenance of the safety system
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
  • Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable).
  • Compliance and Quality Management
  • Maintain the LBA security program, including training and audits for personnel and subcontractors
  • Administer IATA regulations, including portal management, CASS and TACT
  • Oversee the hazardous goods program
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or a completed commercial training in air freight forwarding
  • Further (Management) education in freight forwarding or business administration
  • min. 5 years of professional experience in airfreight forwarding (in a similar function)
  • Experience in leading negotiation and sales discussions
  • Several years of experience in managing employees
  • Fluent oral and written German and English is a must
  • Additional (major) European languages would be an asset
