Zusammenfassung

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an experienced HR leader to drive strategic human resources across multiple business units in a global, matrixed environment. You will lead employee relations, compensation, talent management, payroll, training, and organizational development, while guiding a dispersed team in Canada and the Western United States.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years HR experience supporting 300+ employees.
  • Experience in Canada and the United States employment law (FLSA, ESA).
  • HR functions across US/Canada including payroll, benefits, performance.
  • Partner with senior managers to drive HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% and work across time zones.
  • Multi-cultural/cross-cultural experience is appreciated.
  • Background in HR policy development and pay equity analysis.
  • Proven ability in conflict resolution and mediation.

Aufgaben

  • Build strategic partnerships with leaders and HR across Business Units.
  • Lead service delivery for employee relations, compensation, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training.
  • Supervise and develop a small HR team with geographically dispersed units.
  • Serve as liaison between People Team and Business Unit leaders.
  • Provide strategic counsel on organizational design and workforce planning.
  • Advise on HR processes, employment law, engagement, and management practices.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution, investigations, and remedies.
  • Coach managers on goal setting, feedback, and high performance.
  • Oversee performance management, separations, and terminations as needed.
  • Support job design, descriptions, salary guidance, recruitment and offers.
  • Lead pay equity analysis and promote equitable promotions and talent decisions.
  • Develop talent reviews, succession planning and recognition programs.
  • Assess learning needs and build hiring manager capability.
  • Develop HR standards and client service practices across units.

  • Build strategic partnerships with leaders and HR team members across multiple Business Units

  • Implement human-centered HR initiatives supporting TNC’s mission, values, and organizational goals

  • Lead service delivery and strategic direction for employee relations, compensation, talent management, benefits, payroll, staff development and training, organizational development, performance management, and recruiting

  • Manage a geographically dispersed team of HR professionals across Canada and the Western United States

  • Serve as primary liaison between the People Team and Business Unit leaders

  • Provide strategic counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, operational efficiencies, job creation or elimination, and resource optimization

  • Advise managers on TNC policy, SOPs, HR processes, employment law, employee engagement, and management practices

  • Facilitate conflict resolution, conduct investigations, and recommend remedies

  • Coach managers and staff on goal setting, feedback, development, and high-performance practices

  • Advise on complex performance management, employee relations, and separations, including terminations

  • Support job design, job descriptions, salary guidance, recruitment, and offer terms

  • Lead annual pay equity analysis and support equitable promotion, compensation, and talent decisions

  • Develop and implement talent reviews, succession planning, performance processes, and recognition practices

  • Assess learning needs, coordinate HR training, and build hiring manager capability

  • Develop and implement HR standards and client service practices across Business Units

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams

  • Supervise and develop a small HR team supporting geographically dispersed business units

  • Contribute to psychological safety, innovation, and results orientation

  • Optimize a new HR operating model


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years HR-related experience supporting 300+ employee client groups in a global, matrixed, complex environment, or equivalent combination

  • Experience developing and leading multiple HR-related projects and implementing strategic HR programs

  • Experience supporting employees in both Canada and the United States

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and Provincial employment law including FLSA, ESA, and other related standards

  • Experience managing human resource functions in Canada and the United States, including employee relations, compensation, performance management, benefits, payroll, staff development/training, organizational development, or recruiting

  • Experience partnering with senior managers to identify root causes of HR issues and implement HR strategies and initiatives

  • Experience managing complex employee relations, facilitating crucial conversations, and building consultative relationships

  • Experience supervising HR teams of 2 or more employees

  • Experience managing confidential employee matters and employee data in accordance with local laws and data privacy best practices

  • Experience using MS Office software for reports, data manipulation, and analysis

  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and Canada up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to work non-standard business hours as needed across different time zones

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated

  • Experience with complex employee mediation

  • Advanced understanding of HR concepts, processes, and services

  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies, guidelines, and procedures

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence

  • Ability to develop working knowledge of relevant conservation issues

  • Experience leading teams and delivering HR services amid competing, time-sensitive priorities

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and training

  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly visible environment

  • Successful completion of The Nature Conservancy’s background screening process
