Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossenes Studium in Luft- und Raumfahrt oder Maschinenbau.
• Mehrere Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Luftfahrt.
• Umfassende Kenntnisse in Aerodynamik und Flugmechanik mit Affinität zu Kampfflugzeugen.
• Kenntnisse über typische Windkanal-Topologien.
• Praktische Erfahrung mit Modellhandling und Windkanal-Tests.

• Analysieren und bewerten aerodynamischer Eigenschaften von Kampfflugzeugen.
• Koordinieren und Ausführen von Windkanal-Projekten.
• Entwickeln von Test- und Modellkonzepten sowie Spezifikationen.

Your prospective job:

For our renowned client Airbus Defence and Space at the location Manching you act as a Aerodynamics Engineer Wind Tunnel & Data Specialist (m/f/d).

Your responsibilities:

• Analyze and assess aerodynamic characteristics of high agility fighter aircrafts
• Model and design aerodynamics datasets throughout the envelope for stability & control, performance and loads assessments
• Coordinate and execute wind tunnel projects including test requirements specification and test program setup
• Develop test and model concepts and specification and supervise external manufacturing of wind tunnel models
• Support instrumentation, calibration and in-house 3d printing of wind tunnel models
• Communicate and cooperate with all parties involved both internally and externally, coordinate suppliers
• Continuously strive for improvement to make our processes more efficient and to remain state of the art

Your profile:

• Completed studies in aerospace, mechanical engineering or comparable
• Several years of work experience in aerospace
• Proficient knowledge in aerodynamics and flight mechanics with an affinity to fighter aircraft
• Thorough knowledge about and experience in the application of measurement technology typically applied in the wind tunnel test environment
• Knowledge about typical wind tunnel topologies and their trade-offs
• Hands-on attitude in the AeroLab and during wind tunnel tests as well as experience in model handling
• Experience in CAD tools, preferably Catia V5 and good programming skills (Python, Matlab, Labview, mySQL) and familiarity with linux
• Fluent English skills both spoken and written
• German knowledge would be a plus
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
