Job Purpose and Overview

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join Dawn Foods as Accounting Lead Germany. In this role, you will manage key financial processes and ensure compliance with global accounting standards, focusing on our operations in Germany. You will be responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing bank accounts, cash-flow forecasting, supporting budget, month end reporting processes and preparing financial reports to meet tax, local and audit requirements.

You are part of the EU Finance department and report to the Accounting Director who is based in European head office in The Netherlands.

Responsibilities
  • Lead financial accounting and reporting processes, focusing on timely and accurate monthly consolidation of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and group financial requirements, particularly for our German operations, including internal and external audits.
  • Support Local compliance as tax returns, and relevant filings (CIT, VAT, etc.) providing information to internal and external tax specialists.
  • Manage monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, addressing discrepancies with the team promptly.
  • Implement and manage cash flow forecasting and reporting for the business.
  • Maintain control over the fixed asset register and ensure compliance applicable standards.
  • Review and maintain close communication with the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to ensure clean and accurate balances.
  • Account to Report activities, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with local teams, including HR and Customer Service, to provide financial insights and support.
What it takes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a multinational financial reporting environment with experience in German GAAP.
  • Expertise in German compliance and tax regulations.
  • Experience working in a complex organisation, preferably an international matrix organisation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German is required.
