GoLean Health is seeking a highly capable Medical Virtual Assistant to support the operational health of a remote healthcare clinic. The role requires sharp, proactive, detail-oriented individuals with English fluency and strong executive presence to manage billing, insurance verification, and claims workflows.

The position offers 30 hours per week at $5–$6.50/hour with a performance-based increase after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsabilités

• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance after check-in (~15 minutes after scheduled time).
• Denied Claims Management: Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, assist with reprocessing.
• EOB Processing: Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents; clear backlogs.
• Patient Balance Resolution: Review outstanding balances and coordinate resolution steps.
• Claims Processing: Support claims workflows (e.g., Cigna, VA) and escalation as needed.
• Payment Coordination: Assist with vendor payments, including checks.
• SOAP Note Monitoring: Monitor completion, accuracy, and compliance of notes.
• Appointment Tracking: Track missed/cancelled appointments and trends.
• Reports and Operational Tracking: Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlog, denials; provide insights.
• Team Coordination: Facilitate communication between provider, care team, and staff.
• Operational Support: Identify workflow gaps and propose practical improvements.
