Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a capable Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) to support a busy chiropractic clinic. This remote position requires sharp, proactive individuals who can own clinic workflows with minimal supervision and possess excellent English communication.

The role emphasizes insurance verification, claims processing, EOB handling, patient balance resolution, and reporting. Expect a 30-hour week, 6-hour days, and a performance-based raise after 6 months. Mac users preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous role.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after the patient checks in, typically around 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time.
• Review denied claims, identify denial reasons, and assist with claim reprocessing.
• Review and process Explanation of Benefits documents, organize and clear EOB backlogs.
• Review outstanding insurance balances and patient account issues, coordinate resolution steps.
• Support claims-related workflows (Cigna, Veterans Affairs), ensure tracking and escalation when needed.
• Assist with vendor payment coordination, including check payments when needed.
• Monitor SOAP note completion, accuracy, and compliance; communicate concerns.
• Track missed and canceled appointments; identify patterns affecting revenue and workflow.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/canceled appointments, EOB backlog, denied claims, and other metrics with insights.
