As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 - $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

• 2-3 years (in the last 3 yrs) community experience (TS/homecare).
• 3 years med/surg nursing experience.
• Physically able to walk 5-7 km daily; carry/lift/pull resource materials weighing up to 25 lbs; be on feet long periods; manage repetitive adjustment and exertion, including sitting/standing/bending.
• Physically able to manage long periods of both sedentary (sitting at desk) and active work; requirements vary based on demands of caseload.
• Must be able to provide physical assistance to clients in an acute care setting and physically able to intervene if required for client safety.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, organization, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work with fixed deadlines, multi-task, cope with frequent interruptions and changes.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations.
• Ability to work with a diverse client population, including clients with complex/challenging medical, mental health, social, and behavioral care needs.
• Able to perform up to 6 hrs of keyboarding and written documentation per shift, navigate a variety of IT programs.
• Able to understand and apply case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care.
• Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
• Must be able to attend 0800 Rapid Rounds.

• Bachelor's in nursing preferred, however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector considered.
