Your opportunity:

The Product Lead, Salesforce Student Advising is a key role within the Salesforce Services team, reporting to the Manager, Salesforce Services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support the ongoing development of the University of Toronto’s Salesforce-based Student Advising Service, as well as other strategic initiatives built on the Salesforce platform.

Working closely with a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, designers, and stakeholders, the successful candidate will take ownership of the advising product area, ensuring its alignment with institutional goals and user needs. This role combines hands-on Salesforce administration with project coordination and analysis leadership, driving forward enhancements, supporting system evolution, and contributing to impactful digital solutions.

This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to mission-critical, high-visibility projects in a technically sophisticated environment - helping to shape the digital future of student support at the University of Toronto.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements and user needs
  • Planning the implementation of new business system processes
  • Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
  • Planning and implementing components of IT related projects
  • Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
  • Perform system configuration and administration tasks in Salesforce, particularly related to student advising
  • Collaborate with the team members to plan and execute technical enhancements, testing, and deployments
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of Salesforce-related components within broader IT projects

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years preferably in post-secondary education institutions
  • Extensive experience in the use and/or support of enterprise systems, particularly student information systems; implementation experience an asset.
  • Experience with the use of business analysis practices and tools (e.g., MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, MS Visio)
  • 3 - 5 years experience supporting users of business applications, including large divisional stakeholders
  • Experience with developing and executing change management and support plans including user training and producing user documentation
  • Experience with creating and evaluating RFPs for large scale products and services
  • Clear and concise communication skills (spoken and written); ability to present complex concepts, requirements, and procedures to a mixed audience, including to senior academic leadership
  • Demonstrated superior client service skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills; able to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts
  • Project management and product management skills; ability to identify dependencies, risk, and priorities

Assets (Nonessential):

  • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • 2 - 3 years experience with Salesforce Advisor Link and associated modules.
  • Familiarity with MS SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Service Now, Jira or other service ticketing and task management applications
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices
  • Understanding of the evolving nature of higher education
