A healthcare organization in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide nursing care for clients, focusing on health promotion and treatment. The ideal candidate will have a Practical Nursing Diploma, current registration with the College of Nurses, and experience with elder care. This role requires effective communication and collaboration with other health professionals, with a wage rate of $35.12 to $38.16 per hour plus benefits.
The General Internal Medicine Program is comprised of multiple highly-rated Clinical Teaching Units (CTUs) focusing on acute medical care and geriatric assessment. The Program provides primary, secondary, and tertiary care to a diverse patient mix embracing all age categories, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and education levels. The patient population served by the General Internal Medicine interdisciplinary team includes patients with undifferentiated medical illnesses, multiple co-morbidities requiring expertise outside the scope of a single primary care physician, specialist or sub-specialist that can be acute or chronic in nature. Our skilled and dedicated interdisciplinary health professional team work collaboratively to provide high quality, safe, ethical and effective care to the patients and families we serve.
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides nursing care for clients to promote health and assess need for provision of care and treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal function. The RPN role models professional values, beliefs and attributes, and practices in accordance with the SJHH mission and values, policies and procedures, and College of Nurses Standards and Guidelines. A high level of collaboration between RPN and RN is required to ensure safe and effective care. The RPN provides care for less complex clients whose outcomes are more predictable and risk for negative outcomes is low. The RPN is accountable to recognize changes in acuity and/or complexity in client needs and consulting with a Registered Nurse (RN) in determining next steps in
Hourly: $35.12....$36.64....$38.16 (plus 14% in lieu)
