Canlan Ice Sports is currently looking for an Ice Maintenance Person (non-ticketed).

The Ice Maintenance Person is a proactive and hands-on individual responsible for general maintenance, facility upkeep, and regular flooding of ice rinks to ensure safety and quality. Responsibilities include ice resurfacing, edging, janitorial work, and general maintenance of the facility.

• Perform maintenance tasks according to local building and fire codes
• Operate ice resurfacer and edger
• Measure ice depth, perform ice chopping/spudding, and level the ice
• Paint ice surfaces, repair dasher board systems, replace arena glass, and refurbish hockey nets
• Maintain facility fixtures and components
• Perform janitorial duties including cleaning, waxing, and buffing floors
• Keep entrances, grounds, and parking lot clean and safe
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment, including safety checks and blade changes
• Maintain records and reports related to ice resurfacing and maintenance activities

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license (preferred)

• Experience with ice resurfacing equipment
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
• Mechanical aptitude (preferred)
• Trade or janitorial experience is an advantage
• Organized, self-motivated, and proactive
