Job Description

The Workflow Consultant works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement, optimize, support, and maintain the Hospital’s systems, processes and integrations for all Mackenzie Health sites. This includes being accountable for driving system and process innovations, implementing and integrating non-clinical systems and processes, and managing best customer service support.

Contribute to safe, quality care by:

  • Analyze and evaluate business needs, consult with vendors and stakeholders from multiple departments, and identify requirements for the development of system solutions to automate, improve, or implement business processes and/or new systems.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, system problem solving, changes, patching, configuration, release documentation, process mapping and oversee all matters related to the systems.
  • Coordinate and conduct user training sessions; develop and update user documentation, written instructions, training guides, manuals and materials for users and application support.
  • Create and maintain test scripts and lead testing.
  • Foster and initiate a culture of cross training and actively share knowledge in support of the organization’s skills growth.
  • Facilitate adoption of process changes and the new systems by involving key users and stakeholders in the execution of the communication and stakeholder engagement planning
  • Provide team leadership, mentorship, input and support for the implementation of operational and strategic plans of non-clinical systems.
  • Prepare status reports, presentations, and other documents; participate on committees and meetings
  • Other duties as required.

What must you have?

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field, health informatics or computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What else do you bring?

  • Minimum of five years of clinical and/or hospital information systems progressive experience in Information Technology
  • Extensive working experience with clinical and non-clinical systems
  • Experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Ability to identify and communicate requirements, issues and drive the resolution of issues in an effective manner which also ensure high customer satisfaction levels
  • Ability to think analytically, handle unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative and creative solutions that will achieve quality and work process improvements
  • Strong proficiency in project management and process mapping, in-depth practical knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, people management and interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Good understanding of risk management, privacy, e-safety, and quality assurance methodologies as they relate to integration/software engineering
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
