Under the direction of the E-Commerce & Digital Card Manager, the Visual Communications Assistant produces compelling visual assets for the UBC Bookstore. The role strikes a balance between creative freedom and brand standards, ensuring that every image and video enhances the Bookstore’s online presence and fosters engagement with the UBC community.
This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity where the successful candidate will gain experience in studio and lifestyle photography, alongside design and video production for retail.
Reports to the E-Commerce & Digital Card Manager within the UBC Bookstore. Works in coordination with the Senior Digital Content and Marketing Manager for Student Housing and Community Services (SHCS) and Marketing Specialist for SHCS. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple departments, including Marketing, Buying and the Bookstore management team.
Works within well-defined guidelines and procedures, but exercises judgment in establishing priorities and carrying tasks through to completion.
Works under general supervision in carrying out familiar duties and responsibilities; receives instructions during orientation and on subsequent new assignments or changes in procedures.

High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
