U+ Toastmasters' Youth Volunteer Connects Program is funded by Canada Service Corps, a national movement that empowers youth aged 12 - 30 to gain experience and build important skills while giving back to their community.
As a Video Editor / Film Editor volunteer, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and organizing raw footage
- Sorting and selecting video clips for editing
- Editing video content, including assembling footage, adding transitions, effects, and sound
- Collaborating with directors and producers to understand creative vision and incorporate feedback
- Synchronizing audio and video to ensure sound quality matches visuals
- Incorporating graphics and special effects, such as titles, captions, animations, and visual effects
- Managing post-production workflow, including coordinating with sound engineers, colorists, and other post-production professionals
- Ensuring the final product meets technical standards, including exporting videos in required formats and resolutions
- Staying updated with editing software and techniques, continuously learning new tools and trends in video production
We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and excited to support our mission. Ideal candidates will have:
- Age between 12 - 30
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Commitment to completing basic training
- Fluency in English
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check (required if you’re over 18)
Bonus skills include previous experience and fluency or high proficiency in another language besides English.
