A utility company in Canada is seeking a qualified Utility Operator for a temporary full-time position. The role involves assisting with the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems. Applicants should have a Grade 12 education, experience with manual and power tools, and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. This position requires physical fitness and may involve extended work hours and travel. The hourly rate ranges from $29.61 to $31.99.
SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Utility Operator assists and performs tasks associated with the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the gas system. This job works under the direction of a tradesperson, as well as performs some independent work assignments. Assignments vary with location.
Union - This position is temporary full time for up to 6 months.
Operations/Maintenance
Locate distribution or transmission lines.
Operate, maintain and service Corporate equipment used for maintenance.
Operate, maintain and service Corporate vehicles used for transporting people, equipment and materials.
Perform various duties including trenching, laying and repairing pipe, backfilling trenches, snow removal, vegetation control, site leveling, etc.
Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
Assist with the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of gas system facilities and equipment including duties associated with natural gas regulator stations, gathering and transmission buildings and infrastructures.
Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of compressor station process equipment and other associated components.
Perform general district duties, such as material handling, housekeeping, rough carpentry, painting, site maintenance, gathering, transmission line maintenance, etc.
Perform administrative duties as required, such as timesheets, locate tickets, requisitions for tools and supplies, as well as utilizing corporate software programs such as advantex, map viewer etc.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience using manual & power equipment and tools.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Physically fit (documented by a doctor’s certificate recognizing job requirements).
This job requires extended work hours.
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required on occasion.
