Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a diploma or degree from an accredited educational institution with preference given to those who have graduated from a Medical Secretary/Office Administration program.
  • 1 year of experience working in an acute care environment.
  • 1 year of experience in processing various forms of payment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, greet, screen and provide pertinent unit information to all patients, families, visitors and staff.
  • Perform clerical tasks and procedures required to prepare for patient scheduling.
  • Interview, admit and register patients according to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support services to the unit.
