Job description

Position Summary

The role of a Buyer, Investment is to prepare, negotiate, and document the execution of clients' media buys. The individual will work within a media investment team to ensure flawless media executions grounded in insights and experience. Responsibilities include preparing reports, managing media inventories, and collaborating with planning teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate media campaigns directly with sales representatives.
  • Purchase all media according to campaign parameters.
  • Request submissions from media partners for upcoming campaigns.
  • Develop media schedules that meet campaign and brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with the media planning team on market concerns, timing, and attribution.
  • Prepare and present pre-buy and post-buy reports.
  • Manage media inventories and track changes accurately.
  • Handle billing discrepancies and manage the budget control report (BCR).
  • Ensure clear communication with planning teams, including participation in briefs.
  • Assist in evaluating costs and opportunities, and make recommendations.
  • Proactively inform the team of variations in media plan execution.
  • Train junior staff on tools and processes.
  • Prepare market analyses and develop media knowledge continuously.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience, preferably in advertising or marketing.
  • At least 1 year of relevant media buying experience.
  • Customer service orientation, analytical skills, and a passion for media.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with media research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
