Overview

Hitek Medical Imaging utilizes state-of-the-art digital imaging and report sharing technology. We focus on delivering outstanding quality and innovation to our clients.

We are looking for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to work in our Independent Health Facilities located North York. We thank in advance all applicants for their interest. Only those candidates residing in Canada with a CMRTO license will be considered.

Role Competencies

Include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Greets the patient, explains the forthcoming test, positions the patient and generally prepares him/her for the examination.
  • Observes the patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs and summons medical aid when necessary
  • Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
  • Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
  • Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Obtain patient medical history
  • Operate diagnostic imaging Ultrasound machines
  • Perform Safety and sanitary procedures after each test on the equipment
  • Maintain adequate supplies
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Candidates must be current members of CAMRTO
  • Must be graduates of a local accredited college; such as The Michener Institute, Fanshawe College, Mohawk College or similar.
  • Ability to perform several types of general ultrasound examinations on various types of ultrasound equipment i.e. MSK,ABDOMEN, PELVIC, TV, BREAST, THYROID & OBSTETRICS early and late.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with excellent patient care
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • 3- 5 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training
  • Demonstrate effective decision making skills and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
