Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment for the entire department.
  • Ensures employees’ safety, reports concerns or accidents, and enforces safety policies with 100% rule compliance.
  • Manages transportation teams, plans scheduling and crew calling, and participates in management and safety conference calls.
  • Elaborates, supports, and coordinates operations and train movements.
  • Performs administrative tasks, creates or maintains regular reports and rigorous data tracking.
  • Leads disciplinary issues while following the collective agreement in force.
  • Leads employee performance reviews and provides rigorous new‑hire training, coaching, and tracking.
  • Manages crew flights and ensures documentation remains up to date for flights and scheduling.
  • Manages customer expectations, improving processes as needed.
  • Provides professional customer service, maintaining continuous communication with customers and partners.
  • Provides ongoing support to the railway track maintenance department managers.

General Requirements:

  • College degree in Administration and/or Management or relevant experience in the railway industry (operations).
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the railway industry.
  • Qualification in railway operating rules (CROR).
  • Flexible with working hours to accommodate teams and clients.
  • Bilingual in oral and written French & English – minimum required, advanced level an asset.
  • Supervisory experience in any field.
  • Great flexibility to adapt in a changing environment.
  • Prepared to occasionally work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Proficient in MS Office and various databases.
  • All other related tasks.
