A regional healthcare organization in Halifax is seeking a Therapeutic Assistant for a casual part-time long assignment. You will assist in providing health and therapeutic services under the direction of a Recreation Therapist, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support patient care. Candidates should have completed year one of an accredited Therapeutic Recreation program and hold current CPR certification. This position offers an hourly rate of $24.75 - $28.63 and eligibility for a benefits package.
Therapeutic Assistant – Casual, Part‑time long assignment (50%) at the MHA CZ Mount Hope Recreation Therapy Department, Central Zone, Nova Scotia Hospital. NSGEU Healthcare Position – Posting Closing Date: 22-Dec-25.
Reporting to the Registered Nurse / LPN and working under the direction of a Recreation Therapist, the Therapeutic Assistant assists in the provision of health, health promotion and therapeutic services to patients. The role requires collaboration with the inter‑disciplinary team in carrying out individual care plans and communicating patient‑specific information that enhances the treatment team's knowledge.
Hourly rate: $24.75 - $28.63.
Eligible for benefits package including health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, life insurance and a defined benefit pension plan.
