About the role

At Boston Scientific, you will join a team dedicated to improving the lives of Canadian patients through advanced technology solutions and exceptional service support. Boston Scientific is a global leader in Urology solutions, offering products for the treatment of stone disease, BPH, men’s health conditions, and laser therapies. More recently, we have expanded our Urology and Gynecology portfolio through the acquisition of Axonics, including the Bulkamid product.

In this field-based Sales position, you will serve as the day-to-day face of Boston Scientific Urology and Gynecology for physicians, clinical support staff, and hospital administrators. Your primary goal will be to introduce new Boston Scientific technologies and support those already in use. The open territory currently includes hospitals in the greater Montreal area.

Successful representatives consistently deliver value to their hospitals, are highly available to their clients, and travel frequently to meet their needs in clinical departments. They are also strong team players who regularly support their colleagues, enabling the team to deliver on the company mission.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the products and services provided by the division and how they can be effectively used in medical procedures.
  • Visit customers and/or potential customers of Boston Scientific on a regular and planned basis to promote products and services to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets, as agreed upon with your Manager.
  • Manage and utilize supply agreements and contracts with hospitals and purchasing groups in your assigned territory.
  • Plan daily and weekly visits to assigned hospitals to develop the market for our existing and new products through presentations, in-services, medical procedure support, and contract negotiations.
  • Ability to provide technical training and support to customers directly in Operating Rooms and Urology Suites, as well as support the needs of hospital management, purchasing department, and other hospital staff.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and exhibitions as required to promote Boston Scientific products and services.
  • Analyze and report to your manager and/or others regarding market changes, competitive activities, product performance, and business feedback.
  • Represent Boston Scientific’s values and integrity.
  • Adhere to Quality Management System requirements and company values.
  • Other duties as required.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Science or other related fields
  • Strong communication skills in French and English
  • 2+ years of successful sales experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Software, and/or Consumer products
  • Excellent selling skills
  • Able to travel frequently, for multiple days at a time
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Good understanding of the hospital environment
  • Demonstrated business planning development and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb technical, clinical, and product knowledge and disseminate it effectively to all levels of healthcare professionals
  • Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications (PC and mobile)
  • Demonstrates a consistent positive attitude towards the role of working in a team and upholding a corporate image with our customers

  • A background in an industry where direct selling to professionals is required and compensation is based on pay for performance.

Maximum Salary: $214500

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com – will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).

This job involves regular collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders across Canada, the U.S., and/or internationally, making proficiency in English essential for effective communication and alignment. English is necessary for engaging with a range of documentation and maintaining effective communication if interacting with external clients or vendors.

As detailed in the job description, this job involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with other Boston Scientific teams located across Canada, the United States and/or with our international clients and partners. International customers and partners represent an important part of our activities. Based on an evaluation, we have determined that the duties of Territory Manager II, Urology position require knowledge of English in addition to French (oral and written). We also determined that the English language skills already required of other employees do not permit the performance of English language skills tasks related to Territory Manager II, Urology position.

However, in Québec, Boston Scientific limits as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of another language than French. Boston Scientific solely requires proficiency in English where it is necessary for the performance of an employee’s duties.
