Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) provides pupil transportation services to approximately 30,000 students who attend schools within the Halton District School Board, and the Halton Catholic District School Board. The consortium is governed by a Board of Directors representing both school board members with an annual budget of approximately $33,000,000.
Position Summary
The Communication Assistant provides administrative support to the Halton Student Transportation Services’ (HSTS) Management team including managing the scheduling and revision of key administrative policies, operational procedures and organizational plans. Supports student data integrity within the geographic information systems (GIS) based student transportation software, BusPlanner by monitoring, investigating and verifying student addresses are accurate and geocoded. Additionally, this position is responsible for the compilation and distribution of key stakeholder communications throughout the year including the distribution of specialized student transportation requirements to service providers in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
