Job description
Maintenance Technician

Brigil seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform minor repairs and interior finishing work in residential buildings located in Quebec and Ontario. The incumbent reports to the Community Manager and acts as a specialist in finishing and minor repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform minor carpentry repairs such as adjusting or replacing doors, moldings, cabinets, and hardware to maintain the functional and aesthetic integrity of units and common areas.
  • Carry out interior finishing work, including painting, wall touch‑ups, and drywall (gypsum) repairs to preserve a neat appearance in accordance with the building’s quality standards.
  • Execute basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and fixing small leaks to ensure resident comfort and prevent water damage.
  • Conduct minor electrical work, including replacing outlets, switches, fixtures, or detectors (non‑energized) to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical systems.
  • Follow and document the preventive maintenance schedule to extend equipment lifespan and minimize unexpected breakdowns.
  • Conduct preventive rounds and immediately report any anomalies or damage that could compromise safety to the manager, enabling rapid intervention and risk reduction.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors to ensure interventions meet Apogée quality standards.
  • Manage the procurement and tracking of materials, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining accurate inventory, to guarantee material availability for maintenance work.
  • Collect waste inside and outside the building property to maintain cleanliness and reduce health risks.
  • Ensure snow removal from sidewalks and entrances is performed safely to prevent falls and maintain accessibility.
  • Comply with applicable standards and regulations in Quebec and Ontario to ensure work is performed in accordance with legal and safety requirements.
  • Perform any other related tasks in connection with the position.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • DEP in general building maintenance, carpentry, or equivalent training (an asset).
  • Practical experience in minor repairs and interior finishing (painting, drywall, light carpentry).
  • Basic residential plumbing and electrical skills (non‑certified level).
  • Proficiency with manual and power tools (drills, cutting tools, sanders, etc.).
  • Bilingual – proficient communication in French and English.
