Overview

The Technical Project Manager (PM) position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Project Management. This is a detail-oriented role that combines project management, business analysis, and client relationship management. The PM is responsible for providing technical project planning, management and oversight for implementation projects, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and with high-quality deliverables. The PM will work directly with clients to determine reporting needs and will be the main point of contact for reporting questions for their client base.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Gather and translate business needs into technical requirements and work directly with development resources to ensure project is completed accurately and addresses client business needs.
  • Drive projects to completion based on value, budget and time restraints.
  • Provide thorough and understandable documentation on all projects and assigned system functions.
  • Client relationship management – develop strong relationships with external clients, managing requirements, timely deliverables, and training client on best practices for reporting and how to use PowerBI platform for reporting needs.
  • Clearly communicate status of all items both internally and externally to clients in a consistent manner.
  • Implement a formal project for management consumption from conception to completion for each client project.
  • Work closely with other teams for problem resolution and project coordination.
  • Participate in planning and implementing of future Reporting developments.
  • Review and prepare statements of work as needed.
  • Manage the project budget to assure that project charters are realistic and achievable.
  • Monitor Reporting SLA’s and ensure that they are met.
  • Translate management recommendations into workable technical solutions.
  • Research and recommend solutions that will allow ABC Reporting to achieve the maximum uptime available.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required (fewer with a degree), including at least 2-3 years in Project Management and 1-2 years in business analytic roles
  • 3+ years’ experience in Project Management
  • 3+ years in creating business requirements and timelines (business analyst roles, PM related roles like project coordinators, junior PM, PM)
  • Direct experience or certification with Scrum or Agile development environment
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA
  • Experience managing client deliverables and maintaining strong client relationships
  • PMP certification or University PM certificate program preferred
  • SQL Query experience preferred
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and able to make sound independent decisions
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, multi-task and complete work with multiple deadlines
  • Proven creative thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and formally present project status or report functionality to a variety of audiences, including technical and executive audiences

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in Canada and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for Canada based candidates for this position is $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 CAD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
