Responsibilities
- Provide back-up support for SAP CMMS activities.
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance within the bottling plant with an emphasis on planning and preventative/predictive maintenance.
- Manage all facility maintenance.
- Responsible for effectively planning, managing and coordinating all activities of Maintenance with all other departments and functions.
- Provide all required technical support to plant bottling and water processing equipment. Coordinate local projects, facility maintenance, and safety/environment activities. Supports equipment upgrades and installations by conferring and collaborating with design engineers and operations to coordinate the activities of the maintenance staff.
- Provide technical direction for all capital projects for the facility.
- Facilitates and delivers project status updates on results such as milestone achievement, schedule and next key deliverables, and people such as obstacles to performance and solutions to remove and/or escalation for resolution
- Responsible for engineering functional compliance. Ensures documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Provide technical support and strategic direction for all site safety and environmental initiatives.
- Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program and training for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance mechanics, maintenance leads and electrician.
- Manages department schedules based on needs of the business.
- Analysis reporting and communication of departmental key metrics related to maintenance systems, safety and environmental.
- Provide direct support to all continuous improvement activities for Production units. Works closely with the operations manager to coordinate activities with plant operations.
- Communicates directly with the operations department to plan maintenance outages and repair work in process areas. Implements programs and procedures required ensuring plant cleanliness.
- Track, manage, and improve energy usage of the Plant.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for all maintenance, safety and environmental related activities.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems routinely, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Ensure that while meeting manufacturing objectives and quality requirements that deliverables also comply with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible of the MIP (Maintenance Investment Plan) Optimize cost through effective budget planning, resources management and reduction in reactionary purchases and repairs.
Qualifications
- Technical degree with three to five years of experience managing a maintenance or technical department or five to seven years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous maintenance experience in a food or beverage production environment preferred.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or related field.
- In-depth understanding of the preventative maintenance process.
- Thorough understanding of automation controls and industrial power distribution.
- Strong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions.
- Able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results and sustain them.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards desired.
- Six Sigma, Lean or TPM experience / certification desired.
- Knowledge and experience to plan and execute projects from conception to completion.
- Solid analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of the financial considerations when controlling a maintenance budget.
- Ability to influence change and innovation in a team atmosphere.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in making business decisions using facts and good judgment.
- Self-starter who requires minimal direct supervision.
- Acquainted with Productive Total Maintenance and Statistical Process Control.
